The artwork is a sharing of my journey each day, starting with daily reflections on the Word of God at the break of dawn. Through pondering on His Word, I get to know Him a little bit more each day. By conversing with Him with sketches, while reflecting on the catholic daily missal readings, our relationship deepens a little.
The silhouette of our Lord’s crucifixion is the anchor of my daily reflections as I gaze upon Him and reflect on His love for us. Every single stroke on His body is a representation of His suffering due to our sins. It’s a reminder of the pain we continue to inflict on Him each day when we fail to love our Neighbour. He is our ever-loving, ever-faithful and constant anchor and peace within the daily storms we face, both externally and interiorly.
Each day, we are constantly onslaught by secular influence and distractions that will cloud our motivations and intention to follow His way and do His will. Each day, we are called to carry our crosses and bring His light to others. Each day, that we fail, and we always do, we begin afresh the next morning with His grace. It’s the daily reflections that helps me, guide me and serves as a reminder of His presence in my daily work and tasks.
We are called by the Word of the Lord. Preparing the way for the Lord must begin with each one of us. Only when we prepare ourselves interiorly and guided by His Word each day, can we seek to walk humbly with our Lord and glorify His way through our daily deeds and built the Church of tomorrow as living stones of the Catholic Church.
